Our Team

Our staff members are here to make your stay the best it can be. You'll see them out and about helping guests throughout the day to feel free to stop them with questions, compliments or concerns.

Jon Anderson
Jon Anderson: Jon Anderson is our skilled Director of Facilities. It takes more than a hammer and a drill to keep this large infrastructure operating. It takes the skill of someone who knows this facility inside and out and that's Jon! He has worked at Palmer Gulch since high school and all his knowledge comes in handy when something somewhere springs a leak! It also helps that he and his family, including two kids, live nearby. While Jon tries to stay behind the scenes, he is the one with the grin, the tools and the get-it-done-right attitude.
Mike Bauman
Mike Bauman: Welcome to Mount Rushmore KOA/The Lodge at Palmer Gulch! My name is Mike Bauman, the General Manager of this great resort. Thank you for choosing us to be your hosts for your outstanding camping/lodging experience. Drawn to the Black Hills by the rich history of Palmer Gulch, breathtaking views of Harney Peak, scenic hiking trails and the love of working with people in the outdoor hospitality industry, I am truly blessed with working my dream job at this incredible resort. Married to my amazing wife Jenni, we have four beautiful and fun kids together. I am looking forward to meeting you and your family and sharing with you all of the amenities and activities that make this resort the place to make outstanding family memories. If there is anything you need to help make your stay more memorable, please do not hesitate to ask me or one of our wonderful staff members. See you around the campfire!
Phillip Yarborough
Phillip Yarborough: Our Assistant Manager, Phillip Yarborough and his wife both growing up in North Carolina came to us through Summershine ministries in the summer of 2013. Phillip loves being outdoors and working with others constantly achieving goals. He will be helping us enhance our activities program and the overall guest experience.
