Things To Do
In South Dakota, Black Hills Attractions & Activities Reign Supreme
With a multitude of on-site activities and amenities, there's never a dull moment at the Palmer Gulch Resort! In addition, our mountainside retreat is conveniently located to nearby Black Hills attractions. When you stay at the Palmer Gulch Resort, you will find that there are plenty of sights to see and things to do in South Dakota's greatest destination: the Black Hills. Our family-friendly resort has it all!
There are many things to do in South Dakota's western Hills, especially if you're the active type. Start your day with a horseback ride, and then let the kids play at the Splash Pad. They'll fly down the waterslide, while you lounge by the swimming pool. You'll also want to try a relaxing trek through the nearby hiking trails, and maybe even stop for a picnic along the way. However you choose to spend your days, there are plenty of activities for all!
With so many on-site activities, it would be perfectly understandable if you found no reason to leave the resort. However, when the time comes to explore, you'll love how conveniently located we are amongst many different Black Hills attractions in the area: Mt. Rushmore National Monument, the Crazy Horse Memorial, Historic Deadwood, Jewel Cave, and the 1880 Train—to name just a few!
The Black Hills play host to a range of seasonal events rooted in historic Western-American culture. We encourage you to experience one of our exciting rodeos, or perhaps an art and crafts show dedicated to American Indian and Western arts. During the summer months, there are countless festivals, rallies, and events scattered across the region—something for everyone, especially those looking to explore American culture and heritage. There's never a shortage of things to do in South Dakota's richly cultural Black Hills region...
When it comes to breakfast, lunch, and dinner...we've got you covered! With four on-site dining options to help you fill your stomach, you'll discover just the thing to satisfy a craving or suit a family meal. Be sure to swing by "Grapes & Grinds:" once in the morning for a frothy mocha, and once in the evening to indulge in our unique Black Hills wines!
Did you miss something while packing? Luckily, you don't have to leave the resort to find what you need. Our well-stocked stores cover every convenience and offer a wide selection of gifts, toys, groceries, snacks, camping supplies, health and beauty products, electronic gadgets, and more.
